DUT Fashion and Textile Students : SHOWCASE
This Annual Fashion Show hosted by the Durban University of
Technology is always short of nothing accept Top Class and it was evident again
this year with the Steve Biko Campus auditorium packed to the rafters even at
the announcement of a R50 cover charge.
With 19 ranges featured on day one and the final 20 on the last
day we the attendees were left in awe once again at the shear excellence of
these third year students.
Incarnation was the theme for this showcase. Oh boy! They did
they did it justice. With many of the students reflecting on what makes us as
South Africans so diverse and colorful. Three years later, many of the students
are able to both interpret brief from pattern to execution. Their skills are
not only limited to what we see on this runway over the three day period; they
are also fully equipped to understand the industry form the back-end to the
front-end.
Media State was there and we hope to post many of the Images to
give you a visual intro to the design elements displayed by these talented
third year design students. If you were not aware the final day always
concludes with the students designs being judged by Industry Fashion
Professional in the categories of Most Innovative Range, Best Range on Show, Most
Commercial Range, Best Menswear Range and Best Technical Student and Sponsored
Prizes are Awarded.
