Top comedians Trevor Gumbi and Masood Boomgaard in the spotlight at the next Pavilion Hotel comedy night on Thursday 29 October.
The elegant hotel on Durban’s Golden Mile will be hosting a monthly comedy night on the last Thursday of every month. Each evening will feature a well known South African comedian performing on the national circuit, being paired with a local comedian.
This month’s guests will be the legendary Trevor Gumbi, and Durban’s own comedian,  and braai master,  Masood Boomgaard – who recently set a new world record holder for braaing for the longest time.



While outspoken and sometimes controversial, Trevor Gumbi is a firm favourite in the corporate market, where he can be found entertaining executives and their staff with tailored material, proving that he has the ability to adapt rapidly and appropriately for diverse audiences. Trevor Gumbi is equally comfortable entertaining pencil-pushers to top executive management who love his style of comedy.
Trevor Gumbi has performed at all the major comedy events all over the country. With his expressive eyes, facial expressions and high-energy, he has his audiences in stitches. Masood Boomgaard is regarded as one of the industry’s brightest stand up talents. He made a name for himself on the Durban club comedy scene and has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in SA comedy including Marc Lottering, Mark Banks, Muthu Murugan and Chris Forrest. In addition, Masood Boomgaard has performed regularly in theatres and venues across the country and is a founder of the Charous and Bruin Ous comedy concept.
Pavilion Hotel has a fully stocked bar, and a 24 hour restaurant. At the edge of the city centre, Pavilion Hotel, a chic hotel and conference centre is 300m from the golden sands of North Beach. It's 2.5 km from the Suncoast casino complex and 3.5 km from Moses Mabhida Stadium.
This regular comedy night is set to take Durban by storm, making the Pavilion the place to be on a Thursday night.
